What a FUN week
Where to start....
I guess I should start with our family vacation. This is the first year that we took an official family vacation. We've gone to Seattle and visited friends and did the Seattle scene but never anything that was planned as just our time away. So this year Great Wolf Lodge opened up here in Washington. It's a huge hotel w/ an indoor water park that is at a constant 85 degrees. The water is pretty warm too. They have 8 slides one of which is the TORNADO, Euan's favorite! A great kid area and a wave pool. It was crazy, where ever you were there was water shooting out of some wall, spout, water gun, bucket, floor, etc. You definitely were wet at all times. It was a blast, you never knew when or where you would get hit. You can take a look at it www.greatwolflodge.com It was so very wet that I didn't take the camera in to get some shots of the kids but I did get this one the day that we were leaving.
I tried to get some more of the hotel but my battery died. What timing!
Oh, also when we went to Great Wolf, we stopped by our hairdresser Michael's house and bleached Euan's hair white. He looks pretty cool with it and he definitely pulls it off!
Look closely and you will see a Butterfly on his head. I guess it liked the light color too!
When we got back from Great Wolf Lodge, school started! Euan has a nice new teacher and Monroe was lucky enough to get her Kindergarten teacher for first grade. She was excited because she really likes Mrs. Madden. Euan was fine going back to school but Monroe did NOT want to go. She wanted to stay home with me all day. She even cried a couple of times at school because she was sad. That makes me sad:( She still doesn't want to go to school but she is slowly doing better. Today she didn't wine to stay with me so we are making progress.
This weekend was Thunder in the Sun festival here in Manson. It's a biker rally, Mud Bog, Demolition Derby. Lots of fun and one of our friends was crazy enough to try and jump a 70 foot single wide trailer with a VW Scirocco.
Here is a video of the jump. He is in the orange car in the upper left hand corner.
So... that stunt gave inspiration to Euan.
It is Brian's Mom's 80th Birthday this year. All the kids gathered together and tried to put on a surprise birthday party with family and friends. It didn't end up being a surprise but it still worked out good. Everyone was there and we were laughing and having a great time. I took some great pictures of the event and some darling ones with the kids and Grandma. She is an amazing woman who doesn't look or even act like someone who is 80! She is great and a huge help to us. The kids LOVE going to Grandma's house and sometimes fight over who gets to go and stay there when we go to Walmart! I appreciate all the help she gives us and I couldn't do it without her, she is wonderful!

CAMPING!
Yes that is right we went Camping! If you know anything about Brian or I it is that we are not campers. We have had absolutely no desire to ever go camping. Well with the kids asking and them getting a little older we thought we would give it a go this year. We packed up the car to the gills w/ everything and more of the stuff I thought we might need. I haven't been camping in umpteen years so I didn't really know what to expect so I packed for everything. In retrospect I brought WAY too much stuff!!
I had heard from one of my co-workers that he liked going to Sun Lakes which is by Grand Coulee Dam so I though what the heck, and I reserved a camping spot in the middle of July! We don't really have neighbors where we live since we are on an acre and everyone around us has acreage, so it was quite a shock to have campers all the way around us just 20 feet away.
We left after I got off work on Friday and arrived there around 8 and set up the tent. The kids were so excited it was hard to get them calmed down to sleep. Finally everyone passed! The next day we were up early (before anyone else around us) and started the day out w/ a pancake breakfast YUMMM!
We spent most of the day at the lake playing in the water & then we had BBQ dogs for dinner.
Kids at the Beach
Funny Aadan
Dad playing sand castle
Deasel excited about the small fish he caught
Euan playing army
Adorable Monroe
Later we played minature golf. This was the first time they played golf and I was excited for them. Surprisingly they did really well and were adorable! They had a lot of fun and Aadan decided his ball needed to take a swim in the pond.
Playing golf- Miss strike a pose Monroe, Deasel -whatever-, Euan looking surprised, and Aadan riding a horse.
We ended the second night with everyone's favorite camping treat...S'MORES!
Monroe posing again!
Boys sleeping- or trying to.
Aadan w/ yummy smores.

CRAZY FACES
So this week we have been having some fun with our faces. The kids found a wig in the dress up box and started taking turns trying it on any making a weird face. Here is what each of them came up with:
This week was the street fair in Chelan. Brian was gone to Seattle for a concert and a car show with some of his friends so I took the kids. They had a blast and if you ask them what their favorite part was, they will list everything that they did during the day. One of the highlights was getting their faces painted. The lady was very talented and had lots of faces to choose from. These were the kids favorites

Last day of School!
Monroe graduated from kindergarten this past Thursday. I was able to leave work for an hour and see her graduate. She was so embarrassed that we were there that she wouldn't smile cute at all! I caught a rare moment when she forgot I had the camera. She seemed to have fun though singing the songs and getting her diploma. She is now a 1st grader and I can't believe it!! Here is a video clip of her singing one of her graduation songs. OK- I couldn't get the video to load up. I guess it was too big! It was cute though.
Euan had a end of year assembly where they hand out different awards for different things. This year some of you know that he did a jog n walk and earned donations for this event. It was to raise money to help the school to purchase some new playground itms. With all of your help, he raised $250.00!! The most out of everybody in the school. He one a HUGE hula hoop and was pretty excited about it in the assembly. I didn't think he would be able to do it since it was so huge but he rocks that hula hoop! Thanks to all of you who help donate to this cause!
We also went to Seattle last weekend to the annual Tast'n Rac'n festival that their Aunt Chris puts on. It's a hydro plane boat race w/ vendors, food, and live bands. They also have some kids activities. Their favorite by far was the pony rides, you can see the excitement on their faces!
It was also my birthday on Saturday. I actually enjoyed it this year. For a while I have been kind of down about getting older but this year I was like I'm not old, I'm only 32! I need to reprogram my thinking of old- I am NOT old!! The kids greeted me w/ hugs and kisses and wishes of Happy Birthday first thing in the morning. What a cute bunch of kids! Thanks to everyone who called, sent a card of good wishes, and gave gift certificates. Brian took me to Wenatchee with out the kids- no easy feat! and I was able to finally find a good pair of flip flops that I love! I also picked out a griddle for the family so we can make a lot of pancakes, french toast, bacon, and eggs at once. No more waiting for each piece to get done and hearing when is mine going to be ready. I'm pretty excited about it. I also picked out a little gift for each child and received in the mail a 'Music and Lyrics' piano book w/ my favorite song 'Way back into love' from the movie. You can hear this song on my playlist. I am also contemplating getting some new Martha Stewart mixing bowls that I desperately need. I don't know where all my bowls have gone over the years. I had a fun day w/ everyone and enjoyed spending an evening w/ just Brian and I.

DEASEL
Well Deasel has been busy this week doing what boys do best, running around and getting dirty! Monroe and him picked me flowers (how sweet). Monroe picked the purple iris and Deasel found the little yellow weeds :). He loves to hold the chickens especially the rooster that was suppose to be a HEN!
And then the icing on the cake for the week was....
For all you thinking it- NO Brian did not break his arm :) He broke his thumb playing with some cars on his bed. We have no idea how but it was for sure broke! He gets a long with it really well. He has never complained about it bothering him, if anything he likes showing it off. He has decided that his next cast will be purple- I hope there isn't a next time!

Away but here again!
Well I have been off line for a while and I need to get back into the swing of things. Life has continued to go on here w/ lots of fun things going on. It is finally summer, and we are so excited! It has been 90 here this week and the flowers and garden are looking nice- so much better than the dreary snow!!
I started a new job in March (part of the reason I have been off line). I am an administrator to the Director of Operations here at Wapato Point Resorts. It was really hard in the beginning, getting up and getting ready for the day first thing in the morning. I was use to getting ready when I had a chance, and now I had a time schedule to get the kids to the bus, daycare, and myself to work- quite a challenge!! I have gotten use to work and now if feels as if I never left the workforce. It's just so natural and I am enjoying what I do for the most part. Every job has likes and dislikes but overall I enjoy working again.
The kids are excited that school is almost over and can't wait to go to the beach and water parks this year. It will be so much nicer and easier now that everyone is a lot older and can do more w/ out help. I am actually looking forward to the beach also. Here are a few pictures of the kids over the last couple of months. I plan to upkeep my blog every couple or so weeks. Email us w/ what you have been up to lately.
Side Note: Beastie Boys is for all of you w/ memories of the 90's :)

Pine Wood Derby
Yesterday was our ward Pine Wood Derby. There are only 5 boys in Cub Scouts so we make a ward activity out of the pine wood derby where everyone is invited to participate. We had over 40 cars weighed in with all sorts of sizes and styles. Brian was in charge of the races and I signed everyone in. This year we purchased a program that set's up the races, randomly selects the cars, and times the races. It was so nice! Instead of Brian and I running around trying to figure everything out at the last minutes, it was nicely typed up and running smoothly from the program. Brian and Tom spent a few nights testing the track, timing mechanism, and the program and we could not have pulled it off with out Tom's help.
The kids designed, help build, and painted their cars. This year Euan wanted a tank (Battle Zone) which came in third in the unlimited category. Deasel had Mad Max and Monroe had the Pet Shop Cruiser. They both won a couple of heats each. Aadan wanted Rolie (of course) so his was the Rolie Blaster. His car didn't do to well but he didn't care he just wanted to race the car down the track all the time! It was a great activity and we had a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to next year and thinking of which car we will build.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AADAN
Aadan's birthday was in January and I can no longer claim that I have a baby, now that he is three. If you asked him though his name is Baby Anay and he is such a cutie! He likes being the baby of the family and totally owns that title!
Aadan has watched everyone else have their birthdays this fall and winter and was so EXCITED that is was his birthday. He kept running around the house singing "Happy Birthday to Anay"!
He is really into Rolie Polie Olie (once a disney cartoon character on the disney chanel when Euan was born). Euan LOVED this cartoon and it is so funny to watch Aadan watch it with the same passion and love. Brian and I shopped Ebay had found a plush Olie, Zowie, and Spot. He was yelling and running around swinging his new toys around yelling OLIE, My OLIIE He was so cute. He had the same enthusiastic way of opening all his presents and showing them off, even his new underwear from Auntie Paula and Sawyer. He was just so excited that everything was for him.
Here is my BABY, I mean big boy :( blowing out his three little candles.
